Ideal for winter seasons and for turning simple situations – like reading in bed – into a film scene.

3. Villanelle's Pop Art Pyjamas in Killing Eve:

Memorable it's the right word for the pyjamas worn by actress Jodie Comer in one of her bloodiest episodes of the television series. After seeing her sport the free-falling satin pyjamas, we love this model for its Pop Art-style comic print and the grace with which she wears it. After seeing the scene and how well she wears them, it makes us want to put them on to go out on the street. 4. Grace Kelly and James Stewart in Rear Window:

The Glamour The chemistry between this pair of actors in this cinematic classic and masterpiece from the master of suspense, Alfred Hitchcock, is unparalleled in every sense. Who wouldn't want to wear a nightgown like Grace Kelly's with that silk robe just once? The actress, an icon of fashion and film, elevates a domestic garment, which we now call «loungewear,» to the highest levels of style, and at Muslher, we want to bring you its most sophisticated winter version.

James Stewart, as L.B. ‘Jeff’ Jefferies, whilst holding his binoculars to ascertain if a murder has been committed in the apartment opposite, as he suspects, looks splendid in four pyjama sets – in khaki, blue, light blue and pale pink. Despite being seated in a wheelchair for almost the entire film, he manages to wear both of them, with V-necks and three pockets, exceptionally well. If one could match his effortless distinction, perhaps we wouldn’t mind so much having a Thorwarld lurking about.

5. Ariel's nightgown in The Little Mermaid:

We don't rule out a good nightgown design from this list, whether it's a dress or painted. This 1989 animated film, which propelled Disney to produce all its Broadway-inspired musicals, thus reaching the company's best era, not only leaves us with unforgettable childhood moments but also clothing designs that could well be used as inspiration for many companies in the fashion industry.

In the case of The Little Mermaid, Sure, more than a few of you will remember the nightgown worn on the nights Prince Eric spends at his castle – a nightgown many of us would have loved to possess during lockdown, especially with those sea views. The protagonist wears the same nightgown on both nights she spends there, and naturally, being a comfortable and light garment, a «bed dress» that could be the best invention for sleeping yet. We love the ruffled details on the collar and sleeves.

6. Stanley Ipkiss's pyjama persona The mask:

Never has a more revealing pair of pyjamas been seen than those worn by the well-known actor Jim Carrey in this adaptation of the Dark Horse Entertainment comic. His character was portrayed in a crueler and more violent manner, but Carrey decided to give him a personal, comedic touch by using his clothing – and specifically, his pyjamas. A rather peculiar print that not many would dare to wear in their own homes. Those ship's wheels and life buoys drew the attention of many viewers and, of course, play an important role in the final resolution of the plot.

7. Queen Clarisse Renaldi's elegance in The Princess Surprise 2:

Actress Julie Andrews radiates kindness and elegance wherever she goes. In this sequel to the film Surprise Princess Her lead role sees Anne Hathaway having to decide what kind of queen she wants to be, with her grandmother, Queen Clarisse Renaldi, as the perfect example of kindness, class, and tact. The actress oozes style and sweetness even in her pyjamas. We love that cerulean colour that suits her so well and, of course, the detail of the hood and the bow on the short dressing gown that goes to her waist. The queen of elegance also teaches us that you can opt for a classy outfit and, at the same time, pair it with trainers to make it the most comfortable thing in the world. Very necessary if you have to run a country or your own home.

8. Rex Harrison's animal print at The honey jug:

You have to be quite the dandy to pull off wearing a dressing gown with an animal print pattern like actor Rex Harrison does in the 1967 film, playing a millionaire who will pretend to be on his deathbed and therefore ready to make his will. This news will attract three women who were important in his past to his Venetian palace. Despite being filmed in black and white, we can imagine the exoticism of the clothes, the surroundings, and the character himself.

We're aware that we left some things unsaid – like the wonderful white shirt Audrey Hepburn wears as a nightgown in Breakfast at Tiffany's-, but this selection we're presenting is a specific one to highlight the most special aspects of pyjamas and their role in the characterisation of characters and the plot.
